thomas park (a.k.a. Cheese)
A Brief rambling and wandering history of cheese
Thomas Park is a graphic designer, illustrator, photographer, and pretty epic story-teller. He grew up in a small Texas town where he spent time working on his parents' farm, fishing, drawing, running and playing sports. Years of hard work and dirt road running led him to Sam Houston State University, where he was a member of the Cross Country and Track & Field teams. He earned a bachelor of science degree in Kinesiology with a minor in History.
Not long after finishing school, Thomas became a police officer with the Arlington Police Department in Arlington, Texas, where he worked for several years as a beat cop. Throughout his schooling and time as a police officer, Thomas worked as a freelance graphic designer creating some pretty stellar logos, flyers, apparel, social media and web content for numerous businesses, non-profits, individuals and government agencies.
In 2012, Thomas moved on from police work to pursue his passion for a career in art and graphic design. He worked for a church in the greater Houston-area and then became the Marketing and Special Events Director for the City of La Porte. He now works as the Multimedia Designer for Round Rock ISD and spends his days creating new mascots, school branding, flyers, posters, signage, merchandise, motion animations, and acting as one of the school district's primary photographers. Thomas lives in Austin with his wife and four kids.
